After the Beirut port explosion on August 4, 2020, Nelly
Semerjian's shop in the Bourj Hammoud neighborhood was completely
damaged. Semerjian describes how shocked she was to see the facade
and all the products destroyed and scattered on the ground.
Despite this, "I was able to regain my power after receiving an
amount of money from the B5 grant, a multi-donor initiative,
managed by the @worldbank. Fortunately, I was able to resume work
and bring back hope to the female workers."
