How It Works

Disbursement to grantees will be conditional to the completion of a screening done by MFIs and Kafalat to assess their recovery needs based on the assessments of damages status conducted by the Lebanese Armed Forces (LAF) immediately following the blast, and to ensure that the same expense is not financed from different sources.

Is Your Business:

  • Limited Partnership (SCS)
Above mentioned MSEs can apply directly to participating MFIs who will assess and evaluate their applications and recovery needs and decide on grant amounts.

Once approved, grants will be disbursed through OMT’s Agents with SMS/OTP sent to beneficiary.

Above mentioned MSEs can:
  • Apply directly to Kafalat office (Hamra Street, Piccadilly Center, 5th Floor, Beirut, Lebanon) Or
  • Submit their filled applications with the required documents at any of the Banque Libano Française (BLF) branches
  • Submit their applications Online
  • Kafalat will assess and evaluate their applications and recovery needs and decide on grant amount.
  • Once approved, grants will be disbursed through BLF Branches.

The B5 Fund is a $25 million Fund, financed by the Lebanese Financing facility (LFF), a multi-donor trust fund established in December 2020, and managed by the World Bank. The Fund aims to pool grant resources and strengthen the coherence and coordination of financing in support of the immediate socio-economic recovery of vulnerable people and businesses impacted by the Port of Beirut explosion of August 4, 2020.
